Take the ferry to Bremerton and drive to Union, about a 90 minute trip from Seattle. Hopefully we‘ll get some fall colors as we explore the Skokomish River Estuary. This should be a fairly protected paddle, unless there are strong winds. High tide is at 3:13pm and we‘ll try to get on the water by 11.

Come paddle and join a weekend celebration of all the Cispus River has to offer! After years of hard work by the Washington Kayak Club, American Whitewater, Washington Recreational River Runners, Paddle Trails Canoe Club and many individuals in whitewater community collaborating with Lewis County Public Utility District, the District has reopened the Copper Canyon Take-out with a spacious new picnic shelter, boat ramp, and gravel trail to the river and creek.
The WKC trip is meeting at 10:30 at the Copper Canyon take-out (take-out site) on the LCPUD map https://www.lcpud.org/recreation/take-out-sites/. Use a map as gps driving directions frequently lead paddlers astray. We will be using the Twin Cedars put-in,
There will be a BBQ on Saturday afternoon in the new picnic shelter at the Copper Canyon Take-out. Please register so we can get a count. Hamburgers and hotdogs are on the menu along with vegan options.
Camping:
It is important to note there is no camping along the access road owned by Port Blakely. Camping is available at Taidnapum Park downstream. Informal camping on Forest Service land upstream of the Iron Creek bridge is available. There are also private campgrounds in the area.
Options for Sunday include paddling the Lower Cispus again. For those looking for harder adventures, the Upper Cispus, Superslide. McCoy Creek, and Yellowjacket Creek are all nearby.
It’s always sunny on the Cispus.

Join us for a scenic fall paddle on the Yakima River from Easton to Thrall. This trip offers beautiful fall scenery, including views of the surrounding mountains, forests, and migrating birds. Since daylight hours are shorter, be sure to bring a headlamp and plan accordingly. This trip is suitable for those who are comfortable in cold conditions and on Class 1+ rivers.

Celebrate the season with a holiday lights paddle on Lake Union! We’ll meet at the Sunnyside Ave boat ramp and explore the houseboats and waterfront, all decked out with holiday lights. This trip will be held at night, so participants should be comfortable with paddling in low visibility and choppy water. It will be cold and possibly rainy, so wearing a dry suit is recommended for staying warm and dry. Feel free to decorate your boat with lights to add to the festive atmosphere! Make sure to bring a headlamp for visibility.
