			About this event
Indigenous People's Day just happens to have the best tides of the year for our annual attempt to paddle the full extent of this tidal stream. And our route will in fact take us past the site of the 1854 signing of the Treaty of Medicine Creek which established Native fishing rights. Trees sometimes attempt to stop us partway up the river, but the trip leader will have his trusty saw in case new wood tries to stop us from doing so. We will ride a strong flood tide roughly 3 miles in the bay (minimal current) and 2.5 mi. in the narrow creek (noticeable current), meandering through forests and then salt marshes. Lunch will be afloat at the turn-around point. A gentle ebb current may accompany us back to the bay. Bring your Discover Pass for parking
