Reports from Trips

Grand Ronde July 7-12

Published on 8/15/2016

Steve Reutebuch (cat raft), Seth Jefferds (raft), Don Samdahl (IK), and Bob Schneider (IK) spent a few days paddling Minam to Troy. Launched at about 1100 cfs on the Troy gauge. It did rain on us quite a bit. One day it rained all day long. We couldn't believe it. We went to the eastern side of Oregon for sunny weather!

Steve has done the Grand Ronde many times and said this was the worst weather he's
ever had on it. In spite of all the wetness we still had a great time. We even saw a large flock of Pelicans on the river!
This was also a fishing trip for some of us. Bob caught 50 fish
! A lot of those were pretty small. Steve caught only 13 but his were all
pretty good size fish.
Seth fished a little bit and caught several the last day. Steve caught the largest and the smallest.

Look very closely at the second fishing picture of Steve's lure with a fish on it.
No mishaps. Just as we were leaving Troy we saw a huge Bobcat or Lynx walking down the road.
